Campbell Kennels is the premier beagle breeder
for the finest in competition winning beagles
I have been breeding and raising beagles for the past seventy plus years. I have strived to constantly improve the line of my beagles. In order to do that I am a firm believer in close line breeding. I had the privilege to be tutored by one of the best dog men in Central Pennsylvania, Eugene Eyer, owner of Lazy E. Kennels. He had some of the best hare hounds that I have ever hunted over. His comment to me was "Only in close line breeding you have the capabilities to bring out the best traits from the sire and dam." If I see a fault developing, I will then go to an out-cross to find a line that has the same traits that I am looking for to compliment my program. I have raised the PA Hare hounds for the first forty years and in the past thirty I have also been breeding the Patch hounds.
I have also brought some of the best blood lines in the Beagle world with Big Meadows, Branko and Michigan hare hound. With these combinations, I feel that I have some of the better traits in having a better beagle.
The Patch hound needs no introduction as those that have them know they are intelligent, good noses and can also drive a rabbit Willet Randall the originator of the Patch hound had the same philosophy as my friend Gene Eyer, line breeding will make you a better hound.
I live in Central Pennsylvania, train my pups on cottontails and make two trips per year to Michigan or the North east to run the snowshoe hare. I don't have a pupply mill, but generally raise two to three litters per year that I always keep a pup out of each litter and sell the remainder. Generally, I have a started or trained dog to sell.

When I leave this earth my goal is to leave with a better dog than when I started.
