I have been breeding and raising beagles for the past seventy plus years. I have strived to constantly improve the line of my beagles. In order to do that I am a firm believer in close line breeding.

 

I had the privilege to be tutored by one of the best dog men in Central Pennsylvania, Eugene Eyer, owner of Lazy E. Kennels.

 

He had some of the best hare hounds that I have ever hunted over. His comment to me was "Only in close line breeding you have the capabilities to bring out the best traits from the sire and dam." If I see a fault developing, I will then go to an out-cross to find a line that has the same traits that I am looking for to compliment my program. I have raised the PA Hare hounds for the first forty years and in the past thirty I have also been breeding the Patch hounds, Branko,and Michigan Hare Hounds.
